Known as "grandmother's cake," this Italian custard tart is well known across Italy - in fact, many regions fight over who created it first! Its origin is debated between Tuscany, Florence, and Sardinia, but all agree that it's a delicious treat to wrap up any Sunday feast.
A traditional torta della nonna is made with a sweetcrust pastry, lemon pastry cream, and a sprinkle of pine nuts. Our version uses a traditional Italian pasta frolla laced with fresh rosemary, a layer of tart lemon curd underneath our pastry cream, and a heavy hand of pine nuts to ensure a mouthful in every bite. Uncomplicated, light, and luscious, this is the perfect addition to your Easter table. 8" round cake serves 8 - 10.
