We learned this recipe straight from Grandma Liberatore, making it side-by-side with her and a decades-old, trusty pizzelle press that makes just two cookies at a time. This classic Italian waffle cookie holds a thin, crisp bite and is dusted with powdered sugar. One order is a half-pound (8oz) of pizzelle, with apprx. 18 - 20 pizzelle cookies.

(8oz) Anisette - a classic Italian variety made with rum, sambucca, and anise seed.

(8oz) Chocolate - all-around crowd pleaser made with cocoa and a hint of espresso.

Storing your cookies:

Pizzelle are highly sensitive to humidity - we recommend keeping these cookies in an airtight container for up to one week. Your pizzelle box may come wrapped in plastic wrap to keep out air to preserve freshness. If your pizzelle become soft, you can reheat them in the oven at 350* for two to three minutes until crisp.
