Known as "grandmother's cake," this Italian custard tart is well known across Italy - in fact, many regions fight over who created it first! Its origin is debated between Tuscany, Florence, and Sardinia, but all agree that it's a delicious treat to wrap up any Sunday feast.

A traditional torta della nonna is made with a sweetcrust pastry, lemon pastry cream, and a sprinkle of pine nuts. Our version uses a traditional Italian pasta frolla laced with fresh rosemary, a layer of tart lemon curd underneath our pastry cream, and a heavy hand of pine nuts to ensure a mouthful in every bite. Uncomplicated, light, and luscious, this is the perfect addition to your dinner table. 8" round cake serves 8 - 10.

Please note this cake requires one week's advanced notice for pre-order.

Quailty Confusion

So I really enjoyed and also disliked this but please note the 5-star rating because I would absolutely recommend it to anyone wanting to try it out. Basically... I went into this knowing I dislike rosemary. They list is as part of the pastry and I dove right in anyway on a smaller version sold at a pop-up event.

They delivered on that flavor I hate.

But the crust is really good, otherwise. Like really quite good. And the pastry cream and lemon curd? Wonderful. Just amazingly excellent. Every part of this was high quality and worth the cost. I'm even considering buying a full one for my birthday, but asking for them to omit the rosemary. It's a personal preference. I'm sure if you aren't repulsed by rosemary in all forms, you'd find the addition delightful. I bought a pastry I knew I had little business liking outside of the lemon, and I'm giving it 5 stars. So yeah. It's good.

Perfect for any season!

The velvety custard filling with a hint of lemon was encased in a buttery, flaky crust—pure perfection. Left me craving more!
